  • The Studio

    We aim to provide a relaxing, comfortable, and pleasant environment, complete with soothing candles and music so that you can feel at ease during the session. Our studio is conveniently located northeast of downtown SA, just off Hildebrand (outside loop 410) . The studio space itself is a home studio specifically customized for our clients.

Client Experience

All sessions are custom tailored specifically to you with various artistic set-ups, poses, and style changes. Your session is personalized to make you look and feel elegant and beautiful, while providing gorgeous and timeless images you can enjoy for many years to come. 

We will work closely with you on your ideas and expectations to make sure your vision becomes a reality. We guide each pose for you based on the look you desire and fully curate the session for a diverse collection of portraits. 

Make up & Hair

Professional hair and makeup artistry is recommended for stunning portraits. A make up artist is INCLUDED with the $725 (+tax) session.

Plan to sit back and relax for an 1.0 to 1.5hrs while our highly-talented make up artist gives you a soft natural look before your photography session begins.

It’s your day to be pampered! 

Your Session

Monica Alexander utilizes her lighting techniques and expertise in art direction, styling, and photography to capture your inner-strength & beauty. Even if it’s your very first professional photography experience, her goal is to help you feel comfortable, relaxed, and confident. 

During your one-on-one photo shoot with Monica, she will guide you through poses and focus on angles that enhance your best features. Since she is directing from a female perspective and knows how to edit each set up carefully with maximum attention to what is most flattering and beautiful for each client. 

Portrait Selection

One week after your session, you will be invited to select your favorite images. Monica Alexander Studios will go over your final selection of the best portraits for retouching and size selections. 

You will have an opportunity to view samples of our luxury products & receive our guidance in selecting the perfect display options for your custom art work as well.

Final images are ready 3 to 4 weeks after your ordering session when you'll enjoy a printed and digital presentation of your most loved portraits. 

Retouching

Complete, professional retouching is included in your session leaving no concern for any unwanted imperfections such as blemishes and certain body contours. We specialize in the most comprehensive and detailed editing techniques designed to enhance and transform the image into a stunning work of art that suits your vision. Please keep in mind, this is basic photoshop editing. If you desire complex editing, there will be an extra charge (pre-discussed of course).

Wardrobe

A general rule of thumb, bring what you feel most comfortable wearing and what you feel best represents you. You know your style best. Nothing is worse than wearing something that you have to keep tugging and pulling at because it just doesn’t fit right. We have all done that and have regretted putting it on. Bring a mix of various blouses, pants and dresses and I can help you select what to wear.

Solids always work out well with photography but if you love prints and it’s comfortable, wear it. A good thing to do is to balance out your attire with a solid bottom or solid top. Full formed body type? You can create some shape by wearing an oversized blouse with tight hugging bottoms. Layers are nice but remember to wear tight fitting tops under a loose top. Form fitting undergarments might be hard to put on but feel good when loose clothing are added over them.

Scarves, hats and accessories can be great additions. We can take photos with them and without. It will add variation to your overall selection. Accentuate your wrists, ankles and collarbones with clothes that do not cover them up, think v-necks, button ups and wide necklines. Bring several pairs of shoes if you want variety.

Textures like woven material, linens, lace and denim are good choices and always looks nice in photos.

If you are doing a mother daughter shoot, aim for similar color tones. If you have chosen to wear a patterned outfit, have your daughter wear colors that match a color in your outfit. The most important thing to remember is that you need to feel relaxed, confident and ready to let your photographer do her thing. You will be guided with poses that will be sure to accentuate your best features.
